講座内容
The textbook Welsh Folk Tales introduces a varied world of lake maidens, fairies, animal spirits, witches and heroes. The short stories are drawn from oral traditions and regional folklore, supplemented by teacher’s handouts with tales from other sources. This course looks beyond The Mabinogion to uncover the folklore of Wales, its sacred places, the figures, real and imagined, who have shaped these legends. Students will explore the intersection of myth, identity, and imagination. Time allocated for Group Discussion. 2025 is the Year of Wales in Japan. This course is intended to raise awareness of Welsh-ness.

- Ｃａｔｈａｒｉｎｅ Ｎａｇａｓｈｉｍａ 横浜市立大学元非常勤講師
- Born in London, raised in Wales, graduated in geography from University of Wales Aberystwyth, postgraduate studies in Grenoble, France. Worked at Athens Center for Ekistics, Greece. Partner at AUR Architecture, Urban Design, Research Consultants until 2016. Former part-time lecturer at Kanagawa University and Yokohama City University, currently teaching YCU Extension Course.Member of Advisory Board of Online Journal Ekistics and the New Habitat.
